As a rule, a "radio station license" is required to establish and operate a radio station. The following will explain how to obtain a "radio station license"

- Citizen radio stations (Transceiver using 27MHz-band)
- Extremely low power radio stations
- Cordless telephone, PHS (Personal Handyphone System), Specified Low-Power Radio Station
