Radio stations are divided into ten categories, depending on their usage, etc., and the annual charge of each category is regulated in the Radio Law.
The licensee of a radio station is charged a spectrum user fee. However, the government is not subject to this fee. The radio stations of local public entities for the purpose of fire service and flood control are also exempted from the fee. For the radio stations used for disaster prevention, the fee is halved.
